Sgt. 1st Class Drew Hawley, from Jonesville, Michigan, a Soldier with 52nd Ordnance Group (EOD), 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives Command (CBRNE) competing in the U.S. Army Forces Command Best Squad competition makes his way to the finish line during the 12-mile Ruck March, Aug. 18, 2023, on Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The 12-mile Ruck March was the last physical event in the competition, testing Soldiers’ physical and mental strength. The competition tests the squad’s proficiency in their warrior tasks and battle drills and identifies the most cohesive, highly trained, disciplined, and fit team that is ready to fight and win – while demonstrating a commitment to the Army Values (leadership, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personnel courage) and Warrior Ethos.
