Students attending the Oregon Army National Guard’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Program (SHARP) Foundations Course engage in a group discussion following an effective listening exercise on August 1, 2023 in Salem, Ore. The Oregon Army National Guard hosted both military and civilian personnel from more than 13 different states from July 31 through August 11, 2023 for the 80-hour course, designed for personnel working as Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARC) and Victim Advocates (VA) at the battalion level and below. The SHARP program exists to prevent sexual harassment and sexual assaults before they occur, while simultaneously reducing the stigma of reporting and protecting victims.
