Lt. Cmdr. Shingmei Chang, general dentist from Texas assigned to NMRTU Bangor readily attests that dental readiness is part of operational readiness.
Improving the oral health of Sailors is the most gratifying aspect of her duties, which also include acting as Bangor Infection Prevention Liaison.
Her main challenge? “Getting Sailors to floss daily,” admitted Chang.
When asked to sum up her Navy Medicine and Dental Corps experience, Chang replied, “It has been an amazing eight years of adventure.”
