Blanchfield Army Community Hospital’s Inpatient Behavioral Health team and Chief of Inpatient Behavioral Health Capt. Ioana Horotan, was assisted by Col. Aniceto Navarro, Psychiatrist and Director of Behavioral Health at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, who spent 10 days supporting to help backfill open psychiatry positions on the unit. Prior to Col. Navarro supporting the BACH team, Lt. Col. Alyssa Soumoff, also a WRNMMC psychiatrist, spent July 24 to Aug. 9 helping support BACH’s Inpatient Behavioral Health team.
Before returning to Walter Reed, Navarro finalized discharges of patients he cared for on the unit and provided a warm hand-off of his assigned patients to Walter Reed physiatrist Maj. Aaron Wolfgang, who is scheduled to stay at Fort Campbell for three weeks supporting the team locally.
The Walter Reed psychiatry team has given tremendous support in helping care for 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Soldiers in cooperation with BACH’s chief of the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit and supportive IBH personnel.
