Soldiers with C Company, 1st Battalion, 77th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division simulate live-fire training at Story Live Fire Complex in South Korea, Aug. 17, 2023. The infantry live-fire training was essential for ensuring the Soldiers and equipment were prepared to conduct missions in support of the ROK-U.S. Alliance and was a critical component of the deployment readiness exercise. This training not only enhanced the combat readiness of these
units but also strengthened the joint defense posture between ROK and U.S. forces. This exercise contributed significantly to the security and stability of the Korean Peninsula and the broader Pacific region. The equipment utilized in the exercise was part of the Army Prepositioned Stock 4 (APS-4), a cache of armored tanks and vehicles stored on the peninsula. This deployment aligned with the enduring commitment to the ROK Ministry of National Defense (MND) to uphold armored readiness, reinforcing the strong partnership between the United States and the Republic of Korea.
