U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Joshua Jordan, structural craftsman with the 24th Special Operations Wing, Detachment 1, also known as Deployment Cell or “D-Cell,” operates a forklift during a certification exercise at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, Aug. 25, 2023. The D-Cell’s primary role is to “bare base” or turn unfamiliar terrain into a habitable environment as quickly as possible. Over the course of the exercise, the team was tasked with transporting and building a fully functional camp including tents, a dining facility and showers.
