U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Chad Porter, a light armored vehicle technician, with 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts military operations in urban terrain training during Super Garuda Shield 2023 at Dodiklatpur Rindam, East Java, Indonesia, Sept. 2, 2023. Marines of the 31st MEU work daily alongside the joint force and like-minded allies and partners to prevent conflict, strengthen security and stability, and if the nation calls, to fight and win. Super Garuda Shield 2023 (SGS23) is an annual exercise that has significantly grown in scope and size since 2009.
