John Evans, a bulk-fuel specialist, with 7th ESB, 1st MLG, designed a device enabling a single Marine to safely stow and unreel water and fuel hoses during field operations, alleviating the traditional requirements of a four-person team. Evans, a native of Union Star, Missouri, designed the reel to significantly improve safety, efficiency, and meet the demands of the field environment.
