U.S. Army Soldiers attached to the 1st Battalion, 143rd Infantry Regiment, 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 36th Infantry Division, Texas Army National Guard, do a jumpmaster pre inspection before boarding an aircraft for a static line parachute jump in support of exercise Bright Star 2023, Sept. 7, 2023, at Mohamed Neguib Military Base, Egypt. Bright Star has historical significance as it has been conducted in the Middle East since the 1980s. It has been used to demonstrate U.S. and allied commitment to regional stability and security.
Bright Star 2023 is a multilateral U.S. Central Command exercise held with the Arab Republic of Egypt across air, land and sea domains that promotes and enhances regional security and cooperation, and improves interoperability in irregular warfare against hybrid threat scenarios.--
