Jared Helwig, Commanding General of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command, cuts and offers the first slice of cake to the youngest service member in attendance at a ribbon cutting ceremony during Super Garuda Shield 23 in Situbondo, Indonesia, Sept. 10, 2023. The ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the completion of a school restoration project that will benefit the kids in the local community. #SuperGarudaShield 2023 is an annual exercise that has significantly grown in scope and size since 2009. #SGS2023 is the second consecutive time this exercise has grown into a combined and #joint event, highlighting the 6 participating and 12 observing nations’ commitment to #partnership and a #freeandopenindopacific.
