U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jules Bocanegra, 51st Civil Engineer Squadron pavements and equipment journeyman, operates a compact track loader at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Sept. 11, 2023. Recognized as "Dirt Boyz" for the hands-on nature of their duties, 51st CES pavements and equipment Airmen undergo extensive training in the operation of heavy construction machinery, including backhoes and excavators. These skills empower them to successfully manage a broad spectrum of construction and maintenance projects across the base, assuring the mission readiness of the 51st Fighter Wing.
