Allen Hoe, Vietnam veteran and veteran advocate, gives remarks during the National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony hosted by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, Sept. 15, 2023. During his speech, Hoe spoke on the importance of the annual event and acknowledged those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the U.S. There are approximately 73 previously unaccounted-for service members whose families were notified that they were positively identified during the past year.
