Rodman Charlesworth, a native of Cape May, N.J., and cannon crewman with India Battery, the artillery attachment of Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, holds his newborn son for the first time after returning to his home base in Camp Lejeune, N.C., after a nine-month deployment, Dec 17, 2012. Approximately 2,300 Marines and Sailors with the 24th MEU returned to the U.S. after being deployed as an expeditionary crisis response force along with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group.
