Airman 1st Class Mariam Cham, a radar technician with the 552nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 552nd Air Control Wing, at Tinker Air Force Base visits with Martha "Fran" Stephens, who joined the AWACS maintenance program in 1981, becoming among the first in a group of women to do so. Stephens, then a new enlisted member, performed the same job as Cham. The final E-3 Sentry AWACS to retire this year left from Tinker Air Force Base September 21, 2023 for its trip to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group located at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.
