The color guard from 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division stands at attention with their Stetsons and sabers during the transfer of authority ceremony between the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division “Spartan” and 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division “Black Jack” in Zagan, Poland, Sept. 23, 2023. The ceremony, officiated by Maj. Gen. Christopher R. Norrie, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division, was the last step in the transition between the two rotational brigades and marked the return of Black Jack Troopers to Fort Cavazos, Texas.
