Pirela, Sr., of the 416th Theater Engineer Command presents Ladd Anderson, a native of Calumet, Mich., the command's coin and patch for his distinction Nov. 2 at the Christensen and Hattamer U.S. Army Reserve Center in Marquette. Anderson, who is undergoing treatment for leukemia, chose to visit the Army over Disneyland this summer; in recognition of his dedication to service he was made an honorary Ssoldier.
