10th Mountain Division Soldiers from 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1-32 Infantry Battalion, complete mountaineering tasks like movements up steep terrain, camouflage and shooting moving targets in the Sarmis training exercise, Brosov, Romania on September 27, 2023. Sarmis is the annual Multinational Combat Training Center exercise for the Mountain Brigades of the Romanian Land Forces, which started in 2015. The training consists of Situational Training Exercise (STX) lanes, a three-day Field Training Exercise, and a Life Fire Exercise, all conducted in the Southern Carpathians. This year the Romanian Mountain Brigades hosted Soldiers from the U.S. 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), along with forces from the United Kingdom, France, and Moldova.
