U.S. Army Paratroopers assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, conduct Sustained Airborne Training (SAT) at the Intermediate Staging Base during Joint Readiness Training Center Rotation 23-10, near Fort Johnson, L.A., Sept. 24, 2023. The skills discussed during SAT are critical as Airborne operations are considered high-risk training. SAT is performance-oriented training and must be performed by all personnel prior to conducting Airborne operations. SAT has three phases: actions in the aircraft brief, pre-jump training, and parachute landing falls. More than 4,000 2nd BCT Paratroopers will participate in the rotation, validating their preparedness for potential upcoming missions. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Lilliana Magoon)
