Senior Master Sgt. Dean Scalise, 39th Rescue Squadron loadmaster, squeegees a fuel hose with a roller to force remaining fuel back into an HC-130J Combat King II aircraft during Forward Area Refueling Point training at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, Sept. 26, 2023. FARP provides the fuel necessary for helicopter and fixed-wing operations to continue their mission while reducing the vulnerability of forward deployed forces by taking gas from the HC-130J and passing it into another airframe on the ground using a system of hoses.
