Lieutenant Colonel Jay M. Holtermann, commanding officer, Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), flies a CH-53E Super Stallion during Operation Lund Safar, to Camp Rhino, Afghanistan, Dec. 7, 2012. Holtermann has enjoyed being a pilot since being commissioned and was the first pilot to land a conventional force United States Marine Corps helicopter in Afghanistan at Camp Rhino during 2001.
