230930-M-VB101-1088 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 30, 2023) A UH-1Y Venom attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 Reinforced, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (26MEU(SOC)), takes off from amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during fast rope operations, Arabian Gulf, Sept. 30, 2023. The 26MEU(SOC), embarked with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (BAT ARG), continues to maximize training opportunities across the Marine Air-Ground Task Force while on scheduled deployment as the Tri-Geographic Combatant Command Crisis Response Force within the Fifth and Sixth Fleet’s areas of responsibility. Components of the BAT ARG and 26MEU(SOC) are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to increase maritime security and stability in the Middle East region. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
