U.S. Army Sgt. Hayden-Lamar Johnson, the alpha truck commander for the Headquarters and Headquarters Company 1st Battalion, 155th Infantry Regiment, prepares a Mobile Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Integrated Defense System (M-LIDS) for zeroing during Red Sands Integrated Experimentation Center 23.2, Sept. 8th, 2023, at the Shamal-2 Range in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Red Sands Live Effects 23.2 is a counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS) exercise conducted by the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces and U.S. Army Central. This bilateral exercise at the Shamal-2 Range in northeastern Saudi Arabia is the second iteration of the Red Sands Integrated Experimentation Center (IEC) concept, a forum to test and field counter-UAS systems and implement best practices to optimize interoperability between partners and systems.
