NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (Oct. 13, 2023) Sailors assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) pose for a photo with the championship award at the Surface Line Week Pacific award ceremony. The two-week competition, hosted by Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, highlights professional and athletic skills while enhancing Surface Warfare culture, connectedness, and team building among the Surface Force.
