U.S. Marines transport a simulated casualty on a sked stretcher during a basic jungle skills course at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 13, 2023. The course provides Marines with 3d Battalion, 5th Marines the opportunity to train tactical movements throughout the jungle, enabling them to develop an understanding of time-space requirements for movements and to engineer natural meeting engagements to facilitate jungle planning considerations. 3d Battalion, 5th Marines is currently forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division.
