Darby Military Community observed National Fire Prevention Week October 10 to 16 by hosting several events each day. This year’s theme was "Cooking Safety". Camp Darby Fire fighters and “Sparky”, the fire dog, visited the Livorno Elementary, Middle school and the Library to promote awareness of common fire hazards and to encourage best practices of fire safety, as the tip says, “Cooking safety starts with you. Pay attention to fire prevention.” Left, Luciano Lazzeri, Fire Inspector, assigned to Fire & Emergency Services, Camp Darby, USAG Italy, safely starts a fire; right, Carter N. Cole, Battalion Chief, Fire & Emergency Services, Camp Darby USAG Italy, teaches a middle school girl how to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire. Camp Darby, Italy, Oct. 11, 2023.
