(September, 15, 2023) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Erin Beebe, a radiation health technician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, performs a survey after a patient test in the Radiology Clinic. Beebe, a native of Porterville, California, says, “Radiation health is so important because we ensure the protection of human health and the environment from exposure to sources of ionizing radiation. We also preserve and maintain the health of hospital staff while they accomplish necessary and purposeful work in or around areas contaminated with radioactive materials, or in areas where they are exposed to ionizing radiation."
