Sergeant Maj. Micheal Barrett, Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, addresses staff non-commissioned officers with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit in the forecastle of the USS Peleliu, Dec. 28. The SMMC, CMC and other distinguished visitors came to the ship to show support to the Marines and sailors of the 15th MEU and Peleliu ARG during the holidays. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu ARG as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
