WASHINGTON (Oct. 18, 2023) – Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti, Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Eric Smith, and Royal Navy First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff Adm. Sir Ben Key prepare to board a Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey to transit to the deployed HMS Prince of Wales (R09), Oct. 18. While aboard HMS Prince of Wales, Franchetti, Smith and Key signed a Delivering Combined Seapower (DCS) charter, which is intended to achieve the Service Chiefs’ combined vision for US-UK interoperability moving toward interchangeability.
