Newly promoted Lt. Col. Joseph W. Twigg salutes the flag during his promotion ceremony at the Springfield Readiness Center on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023. Twigg was promoted from major to lieutenant colonel in recognition of his dedicated service and leadership in the Oregon Army National Guard. He assumed command of 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry Regiment, during a separate change of command ceremony that same day.
