231022-N-RP467-1134 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Oct. 22, 2023) Chief Petty Officer Boatswain’s Mate Nicholas Allen, directs Sailors aboard San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock, USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), during a replenishment-at-sea with Henry J. Kaiser class underway replenishment oiler USNS Laramie (T-AO-203), in the Mediterranean Sea, Oct. 23. Mesa Verde, in coordination with Military Sealift Command (MSC), refuels and resupplies deployed naval forces, along with regional Allies and partners in. Mesa Verde and 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) are on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., Allied, and partner interests.
