(l-r) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hawai‘i Wildfires Recovery Field Office Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, Jerry Breznican from the Nashville District, Stephen Hill, USACE Director of Contingency Operations and Chief, Office of Homeland Security, and Christy Jones, USACE Deputy Chief, Office of Homeland Security, met with USACE team members, as well as local, state and federal partners Oct. 24 to get a mission update and to tour the areas affected by the Hawai’i wildfires. Hill oversees execution of all USACE civil and military contingency operations during disaster response and recovery, and ensures the readiness of the critical teams and equipment that deploy for these operations. He was on Maui to ensure USACE response teams have everything they need to continue USACE recovery efforts in Hawai‘i.
