U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Brian Gardner, the safety chief of parachute operations for 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, conducts pre-jump checks on a C-130 Hercules during free-fall parachute jump operations at Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, on Oct. 26, 2023.
