Rachel Glover, an environmental contractor with the Marine Corps Base Hawaii Environmental Compliance and Protection Division, retrieves a wedge-tailed shearwater seabird from its barrow during a bird banding effort at Nu’upia Ponds Wildlife Management Area, MCBH, Oct. 27, 2023. Fledgling shearwaters were banded as part of a fallout study conducted to pinpoint areas where birds are getting injured or downed in order to implement appropriate preventative measures.
