Foreign Object Debris found on the Pittsburgh International Airport flight line during a FOD walk, Oct. 16, 2023. FOD can be anything like rocks, tools, luggage, wildlife, or any other materials that are not supposed to be on runways, taxiways, ramps, or other areas of an airport or airfield. FOD can pose a significant safety risk to aircraft because it can be sucked into jet engines, damage aircraft tires, or cause other types of harm. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Jeffrey Grossi)
