Dustin Devine, an instructor at the Lightfighter School, 10th Mountain Division, teaches a student from South Jefferson Manor Elementary on how to properly reset a prussic knot before using a complex pulley system to move a vehicle during a mechanical advantage presentation as part of the STARBASE science, technology, engineering and mathematics education curriculum geared toward 5th grade students on November 3, 2023, on Fort Drum, NY. STARBASE is a DoD-funded program that provides supplemental hands-on STEM education to an installation’s surrounding area school districts.
