231101-N-IW069-1032 PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 1, 2023) Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Erik Hollow, a native of Seattle, Washington, assigned to the “Blue Hawks” of Helicopter Sea Maritime Squadron (HSM) 78, installs a rescue panel to a MH-60R Sea Hawk in the hangar bay aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), flagship of Carrier Strike Group ONE, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
