U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Alfredo Medina, a senior enlisted medical advisor assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), renders a salute during a disinterment ceremony Nov. 6, 2023, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (NMCP) in Honolulu, Hawaii. The agency has begun phase five of seven in disinterring 652 sets of unknown remains associated with the Korean War that had been buried at the NMCP. The contents of the caskets were taken to the agency laboratories on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for scientific analysis and possible identification. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Jack A. E.
