PAD commemorates the beginning of U.S. presence in Djibouti following the Sept. 11 attacks and reaffirms commitment to interoperability between Djibouti and allied nation forces deployed across the Horn of Africa. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in the region.
