Capt. Antony Eby, 336th Fighter Squadron pilot, and Karel Mündel speak at a memorial service for Capt. Carl Alfred’s in Ohrobec, Czech Republic, Sept. 16, 2023. Alfred, a former pilot assigned to the 336th FS, was killed in action during World War II while attacking German Fighter jets. Alfred earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and a Purple Heart throughout his career for his heroic actions and his sacrifice.
