The “Captain America”, a 42’ Bali vessel with retired Air Force Lt. Donald Shanahan, Col. Malcolm Morrison, retired Navy Capt. Wiley Mossy and retired Army Officer Richard Lee Sutton, takes first place in the U.S. Army category for the 4th Annual Fleet Week Veterans Day Boat Parade during Fleet Week San Diego at Broadway Pier, San Diego, Nov. 12, 2023. 48 San Diego pleasure boats participated in the parade as well as a variety of Navy boats and craft. FWSD is an opportunity for the San Diego residents and tourists to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard teams and experience America’s sea services. During fleet week, service members participate in various community relations events, showcase capabilities and equipment to the community, and enjoy the hospitality of San Diego and its surrounding areas.
