U.S. Soldiers assigned to the South Carolina Army National Guard participate in the Bamberg Veterans Park grand opening ceremony, Bamberg, South Carolina Nov. 11, 2023. The ceremony included remarks by U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Van McCarty, adjutant general for South Carolina, music by U.S. Army 1st Lt. Jordan D. Smith, and a static display of vehicles provided by the 741st Quartermaster Company, 751st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 59th Troop Command, South Carolina Army National Guard. Smith, an officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard and the principal of the Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School, performed the U.S. national anthem. The ceremony honored all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and concluded with a presentation of quilts to veterans in the community by the Quilts of Valor Foundation.
