597th Transportation Brigade Commander Col. Natasha Stanley, and Command Sergeant Major Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Skelton revealed a new unit crest during an organization day at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Oct. 3, 2023.
The crest was designed by U.S. Army graphic designers assigned to the 55th Signal Company Combat Camera unit at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.
The red and gold letters represent the 597th Transportation Brigade colors, while the black represents strength and power. The green and blue symbolize the earth, land and water.
The white represents the clean workings of mission, like that of a well-oiled machine.
The cargo vessel, truck, and train represent the modes transportation used to make the mission possible.
At any given time, there are about 25 vessels going around the world. Our ports are connected to military bases by trains and highway route driven by contractors.
The SDDC Arrow in the center of the earth symbolizes the jurisdiction of the brigade, as the majority of the Western hemisphere, minus the U.S. West Coast.
The chain around the world symbolizes the supply chain of logistics.
The motto "Rapid Support" embodies the idea of accurate and urgent delivery of equipment and materiel to the war fighter.
