From left: Santa Paula High School (SPHS) seniors Soren Coke, Yesenia Saldana and Steven Sebastien, along with SPHS Math Teacher Steven Safreed, unpack boxes containing components of several new 3D printers on Nov. 9. The printers were obtained through an Office of Naval Research grant written by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, one of the tenant commands at Naval Base Ventura County in Oxnard. The 3D printers and accompanying materials were provided to SPHS’s afterschool Robotics Club; Safreed is one of the club’s two advisers.
