A U.S. Marine with 3rd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, says his goodbyes to his family before departing in support of the unit Deployment Program (UDP) and 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Nov. 10, 2023. The mission of 3rd LAAD is to enhance unit readiness and provide flexible low altitude air defense capabilities in support of a forward-posture in the Indo-Pacific region.
