U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. James Standle (Ret) and his wife Evelyn are recongized for their service during Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Marine Forces Command, Marine Forces Northern Command’s 248th Marine Corps Birthday Ball hosted at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, Virginia Beach, Va., Nov. 9, 2023. Standle served for 20 years in the Marine Corps from 1948 to 1968. The Marine Corps birthday ceremony commemorates the enduring history, legacy, and customs that have been transmitted from one generation to the next, ever since the establishment of the Corps on Nov. 10, 1775.
