U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Erin Seely, a dentist with 21st Dental Company, 3rd Dental Battalion, uses a visual aid to teach Filipino students about proper tooth care during a dental class at Batanes Central School, Basco, Batanes, Philippines, Nov. 14, 2023. Seely taught a class to local students about proper dental hygiene as a part of a subject matter expert exchange for KAMANDAG 7. KAMANDAG is an annual Philippine Marine Corps and U.S. Marine Corps-led exercise aimed at improving bilateral readiness and mutual capabilities in the advancement of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. This year marks the seventh iteration of this exercise and includes participants from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and observers from the United Kingdom. MRF-SEA is a Marine Corps Forces Pacific operational model that involves exchanges with subject matter experts, promotes security goals with Allies and Partners, and positions I MEF forces west of the International Date Line.
