    Sterett Trilateral Exercise

231126-N-VM650-1220 AT SEA (Nov. 26. 2023) Lt. Cmdr. Andrew Grimm, from Blythe, California, watches as the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104), the ROKS Sejong the Great (DDG 991) from the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN), the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and JS Kirisame (DD 104) from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) sail together during a trilateral maritime exercise, Nov. 26. The exercise provided the JMSDF, ROKN and U.S. Navy an opportunity to sail together, conduct enhanced planning and advanced maritime communication operations to bolster their warfighting readiness and deterrence capabilities. Sterett, assigned to Carrier Strike Group ONE, is deployed to U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of free and open Indo-Pacific.
