James Larsen, a Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) background investigator, is pictured while deployed on active duty. He was one of five panel members engaged in a question-and-answer session as military, federal employees and defense contractors tuned in across the country via Adobe Connect during a the DCSA Cultural Conversations for Veterans Fireside Chat on Nov. 9.
Larsen –currently a reservist in the Marine Corps as a chief warrant officer 3 – recounted enlisting immediately after 9/11 and his subsequent experience at Marine Corps boot camp, including how he and his fellow recruits overcame its final challenge called the Crucible to validate physical, mental and moral training.
