Larsen –currently a reservist in the Marine Corps as a chief warrant officer 3 – recounted enlisting immediately after 9/11 and his subsequent experience at Marine Corps boot camp, including how he and his fellow recruits overcame its final challenge called the Crucible to validate physical, mental and moral training.
