Michikazu Murakami plays basketball with American students during gym class Jan. 14 at E.C. Killin Elementary School on Camp Foster. Murakami participated in the Marine Corps Community Services’ sponsored, four-day cultural youth exchange program that was originally created to relieve stress and give the children from Oshima Island a summer vacation after their community was affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent tsunami of March 2011. Murakami is a 13-year-old seventh-grader from Oshima. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Daniel E. Valle/Released)
