Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) held a solemn ceremony honoring those who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. NMCP’s Junior Enlisted Association hosted the event that featured statements from Capt. Brian Feldman, NMCP’s commanding officer, staff members, and a prayer by Lt. Cmdr. David Martin, NMCP staff chaplain, following a moment of silence. Forty-nine percent of those killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor were crewmembers of the USS Arizona – and the number included one medical corps officer, one dentist, and 15 hospital corpsmen.
